Who Can Benefit?
Who Can Benefit From NeuroFeedback?
I'm not meaning to sound disingenuous when I say that anyone who has a brain can benefit from neurofeedback. This is because neurofeedback trains the central nervous system (which includes the brain) to operate more effectively. The central nervous system is responsible for how calm we feel, the intensity of our pain levels, how happy we are, how stable our moods are, our energy levels, our immune system, any learning difficulties or sleep disturbances, our emotional reactivity, our cognitive function and its decline as we age, our mental health as well as our ability to cope, adapt and be flexible. Think about it: are there really any functions we perform that the brain is not involved with? And because neurofeedback is not treating specific symptoms, but optimising the functioning of the entire central nervous system, its applications are vast.
Stress causes our body-mind to manifest symptoms and symptoms cause us to feel stressed. That's why just about everyone can benefit from training their brain with neurofeedback to have more calm, less defensiveness and more resilience in the face of life's little (and big!) challenges.
Neurofeedback for Peak Performance: Neurofeedback is increasingly being used around the world by elite athletes, corporate leaders, performers, musicians, public speakers and even NASA scientists and the US military to improve mental and physical performance and gain the edge over competitors. Brain-training with neurofeedback enhances lateral thinking and is a powerful weapon to challenge limiting self-beliefs: it increases SELF-CONFIDENCE and the feeling of being EMPOWERED TO CHANGE. After a few months of brain-training many clients report a new sense of self-assurance and a fearlessness to try new things. Read more about Neurofeedback and PEAK PERFORMANCE.
Neurofeedback for Families: Of course busy Mums and Dads also use neurofeedback to improve their performance so that they become more of a calm presence around their families and less reactive with their kids.
Neurofeedback for Children: NeurOptimal® neurofeedback is 100% naturopathic and is safe for children. It is being used very effectively around the world with children who have attention deficit, autism, anxiety and/or anger issues.
Neurofeedback for Students: Neurofeedback can greatly enhance academic performance by improving the brain's processing capacity, learning and cognitive performance. Students have noticed an increase in mental agility, memory and concentration as well as improved sleep. It is vastly superior and safer than supplements reputed to make people smarter and the improvements with neurofeedback are permanent.
Neurofeedback for Age-Remediation: By improving recall, focus, balance and overall brain dexterity, neurofeedback is being used as a powerful tool in arresting age-related cognitive decline. Research shows neurofeedback is being successfully employed to improve the cognitive performance and motor skills of stroke victims and dementia patients.
Neurofeedback for Meditators: Neurofeedback FAST-TRACKS learning how to meditate because it trains the brain to return to the present moment. It speeds up the development of self-awareness, and offers clients considerable personal and spiritual growth. Cognitive science teaches us that greater present-moment awareness increases our access to WISDOM, EMPATHY and COMPASSION. By training the brain to become present more often, neurofeedback is a wonderful training tool for existing meditators who want to deepen their practice and for those who have tried meditation before but found it too difficult.
