NeuroFeedback and Peak Performance

What exactly is meant by the term 'Peak Performance'?

GENERALLY, two key conditions are met when people consistently perform at the top of their game:

 1. They are completely focused with an alert mind.

2. Their body is relaxed and free of tension.

Think of the relaxed but mentally alert posture of an Olympic sprinter, a concert pianist or a professional golfer. When performing well, they often describe their experience as 'being in the zone' or achieving a 'state of flow'.

The 'state of flow' is recognisable as an altered state of consciousness where mental dexterity, creativity and decision-making capacity are maximised — and mistakes are far less likely to occur. Today, it is a brain-state that is highly sought after by people who seek to be the best at what they do — hence the label 'Peak Performance'.

The peak-performance combination of intense concentration and relaxation mirrors the brain profiles of long-term meditators. But if meditating once is hard enough then, let's face it, meditating regularly is beyond the priorities of most people. So how can we train our brains to operate at peak performance for more of the time? And how can we call upon this 'state of flow' at the very time we need it most— before a big event, for example, when we are more likely to be nervous and uptight?

That’s where neurofeedback can come in!

Because of its ability to calm the mind and quieten inner dialogue, training with neurofeedback teaches your central nervous system to access brain-states where PERCEPTION is expanded, MIND-BODY FUNCTIONING IS UNIFIED and moment-to-moment DECISION-MAKING FEELS FLUID.

Neurofeedback teaches the body-mind to access these brain-states more readily where the outcome feels effortless, consistency of performance improves and recovery times decrease. And as the neurofeedback sessions continue, clients tend to exude more self-confidence because they're developing a belief in their ability to excel with consistency.

In recent years there has been an explosion in high-functioning clients around the world wanting to exploit neurofeedback's capacity to ACCELERATE BRAIN-CHANGE  to improve physical and mental performance.

Today Olympic athletes, performing artists, authors, corporate executives, students and public speakers are training with neurofeedback to give themselves an edge. Without the benefit of brain-training, these peak-performance brain-states would normally take years of disciplined practice and coaching to achieve. When we are talking about as little as  one 100th of a point separating professional athletes, the single-pointed concentration and expanded perception that is developed through neurofeedback — while teaching the body-mind to remain physically relaxed — can mean the difference between winning and losing!

Little wonder then that Dave Asprey, the founder of Bulletproof, calls neurofeedback his “number one most impactful BIOHACK on the planet!”

The BENEFITS of brain-training to improve performance include:

  • a quieter mind where obsessive thoughts just fall away

  • a calm but focused physical presence

  • single-pointed concentration

  • improved workflow

  • an outcome that feels effortless

  • more positive mental states

  • increased self-confidence

  • increased creativity

  • improved memory and word-finding skills

  • greater mindfulness.

  • improved clarity and overall cognition
